Location
It was extremely challenging to find a location that could fit with a 1940's setting. This is because there could be nothing that signified present day life. We scouted many locations but many would have been difficult to avoid modern day items. The location we chose was perfect, as no modernisation had been done for a while. There were the occasional items such as the trampoline in the garden and the alarm on the house we had to avoid. The look we wanted to come across from the location was that it was starting to look a bit tired as the woman's husband had been away at war and she couldn't keep up with the maintenance, for example the garden with the leaves scattered. The house was built in about the 1850's and has featured on the television series Heartbeat.
