Cast

For our main protagonist we used Brooke Shipley who is currently studying drama at A level standard. We thought she had the perfect look for the part; the natural curly hair, the pale completion. This mirrored the 1940's look. To emphasise this look we did her hair similar to that of Kiera Nightley's in The Edge of Love and used make-up to create a simplistic look. The male character only appears in two shots. This signifies that he isn't an important character although the letter he delivers is. We dressed the man in a 1940's army uniform this suggests a formality/importance of the letter which he is delivering. This also links to the stereotypical prior knowledge of the audience that if a man has died at war another man from the army delivers letter in uniform his wife.
