Preliminary Task: Soulja to cry on

TASK: Continuity task involving filming and editing a character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down in a chair opposite another character, with whom he/she then exchanges a couple of lines of dialogue. This task should demonstrate match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180-degree rule.

Our target audience for this film is probably teenagers. The anchorage for this is the characters themselves and the location: a school. There is little dialogue as it adds to the effect. It also allows the dialogue that is spoken to be the centre of attention as it outlines the main plot. The text also gives anchorage for what the main character is about to do.

I learnt from this task that a range of camera angles have to be used to add affect. Also more care needs to be taken with filming as the camera footage is a bit shaky. The editing needs to be done so that shots run smoothly into eachother so the character is seen moving to a different location.
